Wrath *Lion*: Gallagher
Gallagher had a difficult childhood due to his father abandonning him and his mother, and the other villagers did not make their lives easier: a lot of them stared and whispered -gossiping- some were not ill-intentioned, they just did not know what to do or say. I'm not sure myself why the father left yet, but Gallagher saw him going away and called after him, asking him "where are you going?" but he never got any answer, not even a look back. That scarred him deeply, and hearing people whispering, he grew up thinking everyone was disrespecting his mother and him, mocking them behind their back.
Bharrfionn had always been seen as an outcast since he was a child because he was "different" -very mature and wise for his age amongst other things- and he was a Métis (Irish-Chinese). Gallagher was the only child of his age who befriended with him. So when his friend went through a hard time, he did his best to support him and his mother.
The two shared a very deep bound which turned into love (platonic) with the years as they became Illuminators in training.
Gallagher still spent as much time as he could with his mother -not wanting to leave her alone- until she fell seriously ill. When she died, Bharrfionn was at his side to confort him. The two had managed to get a good sepulchre for her, and when they saw many people coming for the burial, Gallagher snapped: he chased most of them away, calling them hypocrites and ran to the forest. It took Bharrfionn a while to find him, the same area where he had last seen his father, and there, he swore he would never give up on him, whatever might happen.
Gallagher was once the most talented illuminator at Clonmacnoise and was respected by all, especially by Abbot Bharrfionn. However as time went on his age started to make his mind deteriorate, Galllgher suddenly became paranoid and irritable to those around him. He grew to be extremely strict to the apprentices there and would beat them over minor things. One day he was caught abusing Rory by Cellach and got into a fight with him. From that day forward Gallgher went out of his way to crush Cellach's spirit and "put him in his place". But Cellach was a stubborn boy and won't break down easily, which only made it worse. Time passed and two brothers of Iona came to Clonmacnoise, Syrus and Aidan.
Aidan had grown very fond of Cellach and soon witnessed Gallagher's abuse towards him. The young Ionian brother wasn't going to stand for this and tried to seek help from the Abbot, but along the way he was informed by Brother Joran that he did the same too, but the Abbot's friendship with Gallgher is so strong he doesn't believe the abuse he's being inflicted on the apprentices. For the time being, Aidan kept a watchful eye on Cellach and made sure to protect him from any further attacks from Gallagher. But like a lion stalking a pair of deer, all he had to do was wait for Aidan to be out of sight and Cellach was all his.
This had to stop! Aidan finally confronted the Abbot with Syrus and Tessa and told him what they knew. But just as Joran foretold, Bharrfionn didn't believe them and accused Aidan for spreading lies about his friend. Just then, Rory burst into the room claiming Gallagher was going to kill Cellach. Aidan wasted no time before charging through the corridors and stairways to the penance room. There he found Gallgher whipping Cellach furiously. Aidan then flung himself onto the young apprentice and took the blows for him. While taking the lashes of Gallgher's whip, they overhear the old illuminator angrily talking to himself and questioning why has everyone he known suddenly turned against him. Finally Syrus arrives and puts a stop to Gallagher. Bharrfionn at last realizes how blind he was for not stepping in sooner after discovering Gallagher's unnecessary disciplinary methods. After Syrus and Tessa take Aidan, Cellach, and Rory to the healing chamber, Gallagher was then ordered by Bharrfionn to leave the abbey the following morning.
Gallagher was shattered, all this time he believed he was doing the right and now he's worst fears were coming true. Everyone who had once respected him had now turned their backs to him and it was all his fault.
The next morning, the brothers had gathered around to a shocking scene. Gallagher had fallen to his death from the round tower. Some claimed it was an accident, he was trying to retrieve his draws that got caught in the wind and slipped to his death.
But others began to wonder if he jumped from the tower on purpose...
