Charity *Horse*: Enya

Enya was a pagan farm girl who helped take care of her crippled father with her mother. Though she was looked down upon by people in the village, due to her background and unusual eye color, she never let the hate consume her and was still kind to people she met.
One fateful day, she met a man named Kade in her woods. He was injured by a wolf on a hunt, and Enya mended his wounds. Though Kade's mother, Sinead, forayed him from seeing her again, be continued to do so in secret. Enya would by there to listen to his struggles. It hurt her to hear him call himself a failure and coward. To her, he was as strong and protective as any wild stallion was. They made love in the woods, both out of desire and rebellion. Before long, Enya was carrying his son.
Sinead was furious, upon discovering Kade had disobeyed her wishes and impregnated this pagan witch, they had no choice but to have them marry. Morgan and Logan were more welcoming towards Enya, but it took some convincing to have Sinead allow her in their house. Enya's mother, Kayla, was concerned about this catholic family her daughter was marrying into, but she knew she could trust Kade with her daughter. Her husband, Hugh, was quite, but gave his blessing to them.
A war between clans was thrust upon them, and Kade had to join his brother and father to battle. Enya was scared for him, but prayed for his safe return so he could see their son. During that time, Enya had become friends with her sister in law, Ally. She too was with child, and though it took her a while to see pasted her pagan heritage, Ally came to look to her as an older sister. The two of them spoke of their husbands and wondered what their children would be like, both hoping they'd grow to be best friends once they were born. One one stormy night, Ally had a horrible nightmare that her beloved Logan was killed. Enya tried to console her, but it was no good. It made Enya wonder if Kade suffered the same fate.
At last, Ally was going to give birth to her daughter. But something wasn't right, she kept screaming and bleeding. The baby was breached. Sinead was forced to preform a C section on Ally, while Enya help her hand to comfort her. Coaithe was born. Ally wished her father was here to see her. She weakly turned to Enya and handed her daughter over to her. Asking her to take care of her daughter for her, she wasn't strong enough. The light left Ally's green eyes and she died. Enya was devastated, she lost the sister she never had. She feared she'd suffer the same fate when he son was born. But her mother told her she had to be strong for both children now. The day came not too long after, Kayla helped free her grandson from his cord that had become twisted around his neck. Enya cried tears of joy and held him close as her son, Aidan, was taking his first breaths. He seemed to be the perfect balance between herself and his father. Enya helped nurse him along side his cousin, Coaithe-- much to Sinead's disapproval. Still, she loved her as if she were her own. 
After what felt like a lifetime, Kade finally returned. Covered in the blood of his father and brother with darkness in his eyes. He looked at Enya as if she were a stranger to him. This frightened her, but she still brought forth their son. Little Aidan gazed up at his father and stared at him, leaving Kade to stare back at him. The young infant smiled and began reaching out to him, wanting his father to hold him. 
But Kade only frowned and backed away from his son. The child's vivid violet eyes reminded him of the eyes of the dreaded Banshees that chased him and drove him mad on the battlefield. 

"Get this demon out my sight…" He muttered. 

Enya couldn't believe her eyes, not only did Kade reject their son, but he called him a demon too. She held Aidan close as he started to cry. Enya begged Kade to reconsider and kept asking why on earth he would call is own son a monster. But Kade shot his wife a death glare and said, 

"He has your eyes… The eyes of of demon." 

Enya's heart shattered, she took Aidan and left Kade alone. She and her family raised Aidan until she felt it was safe to keep her son around Kade. Hoping and praying that someday he'd be a father to her son.
Aidan faced many hardships that she faced in his youth, the name calling and beatings. When she found her son chased up a tree after the village children tried to break his left hand, she was beside herself. But she never let that get in the way of loving Aidan. She'd play with him by making potions and drawing in the dirt. She even made him a toy horse to play with. Ahearn. Even when one of its legs had been torn off, Aidan still saw it as the fastest horse in the world. 

One fateful day, their village was attacked by the twin scourges who drove the men out only to barricade and set fire to the woman and children still hiding in their houses. Enya's arms were severely burned in the attack, but she and Aidan were saved by Kade, who brought them on his horse and made them escape while he stayed behind and died protecting them. Their only hope was to seek out Eamon, Enya's uncle on Iona. There she knew her son would be safe and be around the brotherhood who could show him how to unleash his imagination. They traded their horse, Blackheart, for a boat and set sail across the sea to the island. It was hard to row with her injured hands, but Aidan did his best to help her. Just when they could see Iona just over the horizon, a fierce storm hit them. Destroying their boat. Enya protected her son and dove overboard with him in her arms. She didn't care what happened to her, so long as Aidan would survive. The wave drove shape wooden spikes through her back. Aidan was separated from his mother and swam to the top, crying out for her. Down below, Enya was staining the sea red with her blood. All she could do was watch her son struggle above her while the dark sea stole her last breath.
