Collum Cille seems to approve.
When Collum Cille was still Matthias's master, they'd both stargaze and meditate. It was an easier way to clear their mind and reflect on things, and let go of the stress that was on their minds through out the day. Even when Collum Cille passed away, Matthias still made time to meditate under the stars. And much like his work with illumination, he asks for spiritual guidance during times of need.
One evening he was joined by his apprentice, Aidan, who was having trouble sleeping through the night. After the two shared their thoughts, Aidan began asking questions about what Collum Cille was like.
"Well Aidan, Collum Cille was a fierce Abbot and mentor by nature, but kind and gentle to others, especially when they need it most… He was in many ways the father I never had."
Aidan was rather struck by his response, in lots of ways he felt the same way about Matthias.
